Member benefits

As a SET member, you will receive a 10% discount from the Rosebud bookstore’s brick-and-mortar shops and online store. Rosebud has an extensive selection of books on film art. Currently, the online store has more than 550 books on cinema and theatre. Members can also order professional books that aren’t in Rosebud’s selection upon request via the bookstore. The instructions for redeeming the discount are sent in the member newsletter at regular intervals.

SET’s umbrella organisation, the Union of Journalists in Finland, offers the trade union’s extensive advocacy services and member benefits, including personal advice on employment and subcontracting contracts, terms of employment and copyright as well as member insurance. In addition, each member of the Union of Journalists in Finland receives an electronic press card after their joining confirmation.

Training

SET trains its members extensively, taking into account the needs of the members and the audiovisual industry. Training is organised regularly, focusing on both developing and supporting professional competence as well as occupational safety and advocacy. Depending on the topic, the training can be organised in class, remotely or as hybrid events. The training events are free of charge for all SET members, and they are advertised in the member newsletter and SET’s social media channels. Examples of training events organised by SET:

In addition to the training organised by SET, all training events organised by the umbrella organisation, the Union of Journalists in Finland, are free for all SET members. SET also cooperates with the member associations of the Union of Journalists in Finland and sets up joint training events to expand its training offering.
